Frequently Asked Questions

Car Wash vs Auto Detailing

A car wash removes dirt, dust, and the general grit of use from your vehicle. Car detailing is a more thorough, in-depth, version of a regular car wash. A car detail is not only focused on cleaning the car but also reconditioning and occasionally restoration, such as light cosmetic work.

What is a Clay bar?

A clay bar is either a natural or synthetic engineered resin compound designed to remove or ‘lift’ contamination from your vehicles surface that a regular wash cannot get out. Provides a contamination free, smooth surface to apply protection to. Contamination such as: industrial fallout, rail dust, honey due, tree sap and bitumen tar. The build-up of these contaminants over time can ruin the car’s clear coat. Clay Bars do not remove scratches on your car’s paint.

What is a Paint Sealant?

A sealant is a more advanced and longer-lasting alternative to Carnauba wax. Sealants contain synthetic polymers that form a hard and durable layer over the paint, providing enhanced protection against the elements and maintaining the shine of the paint for a longer period of time compared to wax. Paint sealants typically last 4-6 months compared to traditional carnauba waxes that last around 2-3 months.

What is a Paint Correction?

If you have heard polishing or buffing these fall under this category. Paint correction is the process of removing surface imperfections, such as swirl marks, scratches, and oxidation, from a vehicle's paint to restore its original shine and clarity. Typically done in 2 steps, an abrasive compound is use to level out any imperfections in a car’s paint. Followed by a polish to restore that “like new” finish to your vehicle’s paint. Paint correction can be a time-consuming and meticulous process.
